Snow Mobiling

Crested Butte has 1.6 million acres of National Park and pristine wildernessSnowmobiling is becoming a serious business in Crested Butte thanks in part to a dedicated local club – the Gunnison County Sno Trackers - who groom over 55 miles of trails that in turn provides access to 100’s more. Showcase events like the 7th Annual MSSR Snocross Race held here in February 06 have further helped to promote the sport and emphasize its wide appeal, (the race had 14 divisions, over 80 competitors and proved its worth as a great spectator sport!)

The Kebler Pass is the most popular area for snowmobiling in Crested Butte with both locals and visitors alike, as it offers miles of snow-covered roads for novices and fantastic back-country powder for the more experienced. The Gunnison County Sno Trackers, who work in close association with the US Forest Service, are asking users of the pass to donate a paltry $1 to help them manage the area and keep the bumps under control.

Watch out for skiers and snowshoers who share these groomed trails!
